Restarting the System

To restart the firewall

The restarting process takes few minutes. During the restart time, all users are disconnected. If you made any changes to the settings, apply them before you restart.

  1. Navigate to Device | Settings > Restart.
  2. Click Restart SonicOS button.
  3. Click the Restart System button to restart the complete system or click Restart SonicOS button to restart SonicOS process.

The firewall consists of two components: hardware and software. Restart System restarts the firewall hardware, while Restart SonicOS restarts only the firewall software.
