About NetExtender

NetExtender is a transparent software application for Windows users that enables remote users to connect to a network accessed through a SonicWall appliance securely. With NetExtender, remote users can securely run any application on the remote network. Users can upload and download files, mount network drives, and access resources as if they were on the local network. The NetExtender connection uses a Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) connection.

This release supports all the features and contains all the resolved issues found in previous NetExtender releases. For more information, see the previous release notes, available on MySonicWall at: https://mysonicwall.com.

Compatibility and Installation Notes

• Most popular browsers are supported, but Google Chrome is preferred for the real-time graphics display on the Dashboard.
• A MySonicWall account is required.

SonicWall recommends using the latest NetExtender version with the latest version of SMA 100 Series firmware for optimal performance.

What's New

This release provides the latest NetExtender and SMA 100 Series versions and fixes for previously reported issues.

Resolved Issues

Issue ID	Issue Description
SMA-4908	A warning shows "Windows cannot verify the publisher of this driver software" while installing previous NetExtender version on some Windows 32-bit systems.
SMA-4958	When a password is changed via NetExtender, it is treated as a percent-encoded character when the '%' symbol is used.
SMA-5024	NetExtender remote code execution vulnerability as SYSTEM via Endpoint Policy Checking update.
