SonicWall Mobile Connect for macOS is a free app with no licensing required, but it requires a concurrent license on a SonicWall appliance to function properly.

Compatibility and Installation Notes

SonicWall Mobile Connect (MC) 5.0.13 for macOS is supported on all macOS models running the following macOS versions:

  • macOS 15.x (Sequoia)
  • macOS 14.x (Sonoma)
  • macOS 13.x (Ventura)
  • macOS 12.x (Monterey)

SonicWall Mobile Connect 5.0.13 for macOS is a free app, but requires a concurrent license on one of the following SonicWall solutions to function properly:

  • SonicWall firewall appliances including the NSa, TZ, SOHO and SuperMassive series platforms. This includes SonicWall Gen5 SOHO running SonicOS 5.9.2.x, Gen6 firewalls running SonicOS 6.5.x, Gen7 firewalls running SonicOS 7.x and Gen8 firewalls running SonicOS 8.0.

  • Secure Mobile Access (SMA) 100 Series appliances running 10.2.1 or higher.

  • Secure Mobile Access (SMA) 1000 Series appliances running 12.4.3 or higher.

What's New

Migrate the Mobile Connect macOS application to utilize the authentication API also fixes a number of issues found in previous releases.

MC-894 The End Point Control (EPC) application check fails on MC macOS.
MC-905

After upgrading macOS from version 15.1 to 15.2, users are unable to connect to SMA using MC macOS 5.0.12.

If the SMA appliance is configured with an Advanced Endpoint Check (EPC) profile and policy that utilizes the OPSWAT library for inspection and policy enforcement, Mobile Connect users will be unable to connect to the SMA appliance when using devices running macOS version 15.2 or later.

MC-906

The advance EPC evaluation by MC fails on macOS version 15.2 for both SMA 1000 and SMA 100.

If the SMA appliance is configured with an Advanced Endpoint Check (EPC) profile and policy that utilizes the OPSWAT library for inspection and policy enforcement, Mobile Connect users will be unable to connect to the SMA appliance when using devices running macOS version 15.2 or later.

MC-919 The MC displayed an incorrect error message when there was no internet connection.
MC-941 Duo Security Multi-Factor Authentication is not supported on MC macOS.
MC-944 The EPC application check fails on MacOS with Darktrace cSensor.
