How to migrate settings from GEN6 to GEN7 firewall?

This article explains how to migrate the settings from GEN6 to GEN7 firewall.

• Please follow this article to check if the firewalls are supported for migration, Can Settings be Exported/Imported from one SonicWall to Another? (Support Matrix).
• Make sure GEN6 and GEN7 firewalls are in the latest firmware version.
• Follow this article to know how to upgrade the firmware version How can I upgrade SonicOS Firmware?
• Login to GEN6 firewall.
• Navigate to Manage|Firmware & backups|Export the settings file.
  
• Navigate to https://migratetool.global.sonicwall.com/
• Follow this article to know How to Create a GEN7 Settings File by Using the Online Migration Tool How to Create Gen 7 Settings File by Using the Online Migration Tool.
• Once the file is generated, you can import the migrated settings file to the GEN7 firewall.

      TIP: Make sure that your GEN7 firewall is running on the same firmware that you chose under Migration Tool | Export | Target.
