How to troubleshoot SMA 1000 series device not responding?

Description

If you think that your device is not responding or is having issues in booting up the device . Please follow the steps suggested here.

Resolution

TIP: Always take backup of your device before making any changes in the device.

Now, if you think your device is facing issues with regards to booting up.

  • Check what it shows on the display of the appliance ( if its blank or showing nothing) continue to check next step .
  • If there is no UI acess, means the way you login to your sma device from a browser and its not responding to that URL or ip add (no access to WEBUI).
  • Check if you can ping your device from CMD ( check if its alive or its showing request time out ).
  • Connect the console cable and check if you can get access from putty to device .
  • Try removing the power cable and plug it in after 5-10 mins and check if anything changes.
  • If there is no change in the status then please contact support for further assistance.
