The Log shows Thermal Yellow or Thermal Red message.

Resolution

A Thermal Yellow Log message occurs when the SonicWall appliance temperature is greater than 75 degrees Celsius but less than 80 degrees Celsius.

A Thermal Red Log message occurs when the SonicWall appliance temperature is greater than 80 degrees Celsius

  1. Ensure that the SonicWall appliance is placed in a cool and dry place.
  2. Ensure that enough ventilation is provided around the SonicWall appliance.
  3. Check fans to see if they are still working. Clean fans as necessary.
  4. Ensure that you are using recent firmware to eliminate firmware corruption. Please note: you may wish to contact technical support to determine whether or not a firmware upgrade will resolve the issue in your environment.

You can check the most recent firmware versions available for your product through your MySonicWall account:

  1. Log into your MySonicWall account at http://www.mySonicWall.com/.
  2. In MySonicWall, click Downloads in the left navigation pane to display the Download Center screen.
  3. Select your product in the Software Type drop-down list to display available firmware versions.
  4. To download the firmware to your computer, click the link for the firmware version you want. You can download the Release Notes and other associated files in the same way.
