How to access the SonicWall Firewall through Netextender

Description

This article describes how to access the SonicWall firewall via NetExtender.

Resolution for SonicOS 7.X

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.






Step 1:

Goto: Navigate to Network | SSL VPN | Server Settings and enable ‘Enable Web Management over SSL VPN’:

You will get an reminder to add the access rules for the management.

Step 2:

Goto: Navigate to Policy|Rules and Policies | Access Rules and add access rules from SSL VPN-LAN for the management traffic:

Step 3:

Goto: Navigate to Device| Users | Local Users | Groups and add the SonicWall Administrator in the required user access.

Step 4:

Login to Netextender

Now when you put LAN IP (X0 Management IP) you will be able to reach Firewall login page.


Resolution for SonicOS 6.5

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.2 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 6.5 firmware.





Step 1:

Goto: SSL VPN | Server Setting and enable ‘Enable Web Management over SSL VPN’:

Goto: Firewall | Access Rules access the SSLVPN to LAN rules and enable 'Enable Management':

Step 3:

Goto: Users | Local Users | Groups and add the SonicWall Administrator:

Step 4:

Login to Netextender

Now when you put LAN IP (192.168.168.168) you will be able to reach Firewall login page.
