Description

When Cloud Secure Edge (CSE) is enabled on the SonicWALL Firewall, an error message appears: "Cloud Secure Edge/License Manager HTTP Server Returned Error."

Image

Cause

The issue arises when the firewall name on MySonicWall contains special characters.

Resolution

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Export the configuration from the firewall to your local PC.

  2. Disable Cloud Secure Edge (CSE) on the firewall.

  3. Remove any special characters from the firewall name in MySonicWall.

  4. Synchronize the licenses on the firewall.

    • If using a High Availability (HA) setup, perform this step on both the primary and secondary firewalls.

  5. Re-enable CSE on the firewall.

After re-enabling CSE and completing synchronization on the Connector tab, the connector should appear in the firewall interface and begin reporting to the CSE Command Center.
