Assigning Flow server to Firewall/s in GMS

Description

Many times, Flow report in GMS doesn't show up. This document will help correctly assigning the flow server on the Firewall usign GMS and to show flow reports in GMS.

Assigning Flow server to Firewall/s in GMS

Pre-requisite:

      Have an active Flow server in GMS deployment. server in GMS 8.x

      Firewall/s must have App Visualization licensed and enabled.

To Assign Flow server on a Firewall and to see Flow report data for a Firewall in GMS follow below steps:

  1. Login to GMS and go to Firewall tab and select the corresponding Firewall / Group
  2. Right click on the Firewall / Group (in the Tree Control) and click on Re-assign Agents’ and Popup window will open

  1. In the Popup window, go to section ‘Flow Server Agent IP and click on the arrow there and you should see your Flow Server (IP / Name) listed there.
  2. Select the Flow server IP from the dropdown

  1. Now check the ‘Flow configuration’ section below and select mode as needed and click ‘OK.

There are 2 modes:

      Manual: Flow server will be assigned to the Firewall but the flow server IP will NOT be updated on the Firewall and need to set manually on the Firewall.

      Auto: This will assign / update flow server IP on the Firewall

  1. Once completed, you can go to the Firewall tab and then select the corresponding firewall and go to Flows | General | Status page to check the Flow server status for the firewall
