SonicWall Cloud Secure Edge Expands Global Network with Three New Points of Presence

by SonicWall Staff

Faster, local enforcement for users in South Korea, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia

SonicWall Cloud Secure Edge (CSE) is extending its Secure Private Access network with three new Points of Presence (PoPs), bringing Zero Trust enforcement closer to users across Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East.

The new PoPs are now live in:

  • Seoul, South Korea
  • Johannesburg, South Africa
  • Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Why PoP Location Matters

In a Zero Trust model, PoPs are where enforcement actually happens: where identity is verified, device posture is evaluated, and access decisions are made. Bringing enforcement closer to users shortens that path, so identity checks and access decisions happen in near real time. The result is an experience that feels instant, not something users have to work around. That is the standard CSE is built to deliver everywhere, and each new PoP extends it to more of the world.

Closing the Gap in Three Strategic Regions

These three PoPs address a region where global organizations have long had users, but not always local enforcement.

  • South Korea gives organizations in one of Asia's most connected economies full-speed, in-region Zero Trust access, without routing traffic through distant PoPs in Japan or Singapore.
  • South Africa brings enterprise-grade CSE performance to Southern Africa, supporting compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) by keeping traffic in-region.
  • Saudi Arabia extends coverage into the Gulf, helping organizations meet Saudi data residency expectations under the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) while giving users the same low-latency experience as their counterparts elsewhere in the world.

Local enforcement in each region means traffic stays close to its source, reducing unnecessary cross-border data flows and easing the compliance burden for multinational organizations operating there.

Better Routing for Firewall Connector Customers

For customers using the SonicWall Firewall Connector, local PoP coverage delivers a direct operational benefit. Traffic is routed through the nearest available enforcement point, making connections faster and more efficient, with no configuration changes required.

The Bigger Picture: A Growing Network You Can Rely On

This expansion reflects SonicWall's continued investment in Cloud Secure Edge as a scalable, cloud-native Security Services Edge platform. Every new PoP means automatic, seamless coverage for users in that region, with no added hardware procurement, deployment projects, or manual upgrades. For organizations evaluating CSE, PoP growth in emerging and high-priority markets is a signal worth noting. It reflects a broader commitment to giving security teams real control over how the platform operates and where, not just confidence that it is operating somewhere in the cloud.
