Signature Downloads Through a Proxy Server

When the firewall is deployed behind a proxy, the following configuration is essential for registration, automatic signature downloads, and cloud updates.

To enable signature download or appliance registration through a proxy server

  1. Navigate to the Policy > Security Services > Summary.
  2. In the Signature downloads through a proxy server section, enable Download Signatures through a Proxy Server.

  3. In the Proxy Server Name or IP Address field, enter the hostname or IP address of the proxy server.
  4. In the Proxy Server Port field, enter the port number used to connect to the proxy server.

  5. If the proxy requires authentication to allow access, enable This Proxy Server requires Authentication and provide a username and password of an account that is authorized to access the Internet through this proxy.

    6. If you leave the password field empty, the current password value for this appliance remains unchanged.

  6. Click Accept.

    7. If the firewall is not already registered, navigate to Device > Settings > Licenses and on the top-right click Login with MySonicWALL > enter the MySonicWALL username and password > click Register.
