Web Proxy Audit Log

The Web proxy audit log provides detailed information about connection activity for users who are accessing resources using Web Proxy Access or Translated Access, including a list of users and the amount of data transferred.

To view the Web Proxy Audit log

  1. In the AMC, navigate to Monitoring > Logging.

    The View Logs page displays.

  2. Select Web proxy audit log from the Log file drop-down menu.

The View Logs page displays the information shown in the below table about the Web proxy audit log file.

ColumnDescription
Status

Displays color-coded return codes for each HTTP request. Move the pointer over an HTTP return code number to see explanatory text. The code numbers are in the following ranges and colors:

  • 500: server error (red)

  • 400: client error (orange)

  • 300: redirection (green)

  • 200: success (green)

TimeThe date and time at which the request was received by the appliance.
Source IPThe IP address and port number of the computer that used the Web proxy service.
BytesThe number of bytes sent in the body of the response, excluding the size of the HTTP headers.
UsernameThe name with which the user authenticated to the Web proxy service. You can search all log messages related to a specific user by clicking a username link.
RequestShows the first line of the HTTP request, which contains the HTTP command (such as GET or POST), the requested resource, and the HTTP version number
