This section allows to create a NSM system backup manually from NSM GUI.
If NSM GUI is down please refer to Backup/Restore NSM using Safemode to backup the system using safemode.
For closed network, first set the authentication code in closed network then perform the backup scenario. Refer To update the Auth Code in Closed Network to set the authentication code.
To create a file system backup manually
Navigate to System | Settings > Schedule Backups > Backups.
Click on Create Backup Now.
Enter a name for the backup in Name text box and select the Backup Location from the drop down.
To be able to create a backup in Reporting Data Disk, first add Reporting Data Disk. Refer Adding Reporting Data Disk in NSM Getting Started Guide.
Toggle on the Exclude Uploaded Firmware Files to restrict the firmware files from being backed up.
Click Create.
On clicking Create the system reboots and a Success message is displayed after reboot.
To create a backup the system needs to reboot and it will take 10 to 15 minutes for the system to be up and running.
Once the system is up and running, login to NSM and navigate to System | Settings > Schedule Backups > Backups and verify the backup is displayed in the list of backups.
