Global VPN Client 5 Release Notes

Version 5.0.0

This version of Global VPN Client is a maintenance release for existing platforms and resolves issues in previous releases.

Important

  • If you have a prior version of Global VPN Client installed, uninstall it before installing version 5.0.0.
  • Remove any installed 3rd Party VPN client program before installing the latest Global VPN Client.

Compatibility and Installation Notes

  • A MySonicWall account is required.
  • Most popular browsers are supported, but Google Chrome is preferred for the real-time graphics display on the Dashboard.

  • Windows 11, 64 bit
  • Windows 10, 64 bit

What's New

  • Two Factor Authentication can be configured to use a one-time password (OTP) when connecting between Global VPN Client and the firewall.

  • This maintenance release also provides fixes for previously reported issues.

Resolved Issues

CLNT-1346 GVC crashes when the Details tab on the Certificate page is opened and clicked 2 or 3 times.

CLNT-1338 The shortcut, For help, Press F1, is not working when logs are open.
CLNT-1331 A duplicate IP address can be added as a peer multiple times.
CLNT-1328 RSA 4096-bit user certificate authentication fails with INVALID_SIGNATURE; the username and password prompts are not shown on Enable.
CLNT-1326 When the option to Auto reconnect after wake from sleep is disabled, the GVC peer remains stuck in Connecting state when manually enabled after a system wake-up.
CLNT-1324

Tunnel shows "Connected" after sleep/wake but IPsec Phase I/II not established; no traffic flows.

CLNT-1323 If the enrollment process is interrupted and the enrollment window is left idle, the session expires without proper messages.
CLNT-1322 Unable to add users with special characters in their name; enrollment fails.
CLNT-1320 Import ECDSA certificate to the local user, and it also shows the certificate list.

Sometimes 2FA windows becomes non responsive.
