SMB SSL-VPN: How to select a host name that is sent to the backend server

Description

SMB SSL-VPN: How to select a host name that is sent to the backend server

Resolution

Starting with firmware 8.5 it is possible to alter a specific host name that is sent to the HTTP/HTTPS backend server in the client HTTP/HTTPS request.

There are three hostname options that can be chosen:

- inherited from client request  - host name sent by the remote user is passed on un-altered to the backend server

- Virtual hostname  - host name sent from the client is replaced by the SRA with 'Virtual Host Domain Name' configured in the Virtual host tab under portal 'virtual host' tab.

- Application server host (backend)  - host name sent from the client is replaced by the 'Application Server Host' name in the portal --> offloading tab
