SECaaS to Service Provider Plan (SPP) Conversion Process

This article explains how to use MySonicWall to convert SonicWall Gen 7 firewalls from the Security-as-a-Service (SECaaS) program to the SonicWall Partner Plan (SPP) model.

 

Prerequisites:

  • This process applies only to Gen 7 firewalls.

You must have access to:

  • Your MySonicWall account
  • SonicWall SPP Partner Price List
  • If the firewall as licensed via the SECAAS program for Stateful High Availability (HA), additional licensing is required (see note below)

 

Step-by-Step Instruction:

  1. Purchase the Conversion SKU
  • Select the appropriate Conversion SKU based on your firewall model.
  • These SKUs are listed in the SonicWall SPP Partner Price List.
  1. Log in to MySonicWall
  • Go to MySonicWall and sign in.
  • Locate the firewall you want to convert.
  1. Activate the SECAAS Conversion License (See screenshot below)
  • Navigate to the Licenses tab for the selected firewall.
  • Find the "SECAAS Conversion" category.
  • Click "Activate" next to "Reset SECAAS License."

  1. Confirm License Reset
  • After activation, you'll see this message:

"All subscriptions on this firewall will expire 1 day from now. Please immediately ensure your firewall is licensed using Monthly Billing or with an annual term license key."

  1. Apply a New License
  • Provision the firewall with either:
    • A Monthly Billing license, or
    • An Annual Term license key
  1. Cancel SECaaS Billing if applicable
  • Submit a cancellation request to your Distributor to stop SECaaS billing.

 

Note: If the Firewall is licensed for stateful High Availability (HA) via the SECAAS program

  • You must purchase and activate an Annual term license for Stateful HA via the classic pricelist
