How to Unbind TOTP from Command Line Interface (CLI)?

Sonicwall UTM appliances provide support for command line interface (CLI) commands to monitor and manage the device.This article will guide you how to unbind a TOTP using the Sonicwall firewall's command line interface (CLI).

Resolution

Resolution for SonicOS 7.X & SonicOS 6.5

  1. Connect the console cable to the firewall's console port (DB9 to RJ45). Please see the Knowledge Base for instructions on how to use the command line interface (CLI) to log into the appliance .How can I login to the appliance using the Command Line Interface (CLI)?

  2. Launch any terminal emulation application that communicates with the serial port connected to the appliance (PuTTY, TeraTerm Pro,SecureCRT, HyperTerminal, etc.) and configure the following settings.

  3. When the connection is established, log in to the security appliance using the credentials.

    At the User: prompt enter the Admin’s username. Only the admin user will be able to login from the CLI. The default Admin username is admin. The default can be changed.


    At the Password: prompt, enter the Admin’s password.


    Note : If an invalid or mismatched username or password is entered, the CLI prompt will return to User:, and a “CLI administrator login denied due to bad credentials” error message will be logged. There is no lockout facility on the CLI.

  4. Please enter the following command to unbind the TOTP for user "Admin".

>Configure 
>administration
>admin unbind-totp
>end
>exit
