How to block the wireless users from accessing the SonicWaves Management page using the SSID Virtual IP (WNM).

Description

This article tells how to block the wireless users from accessing the Sonicwaves Management page using the SSID Virtual IP (WNM).

When we create or add new SSIDs and add them to the AP Policies on the WNM portal, we have noticed that the firewall is assigning a random virtual IP to the SSID which is pointing to the MAC address of the Access Point.

When the users go to the web browser and type the SSID Virtual IPs, it redirects to SonicWaves Mangement Page (Login Page).

Resolution

In order to block the Virtual IP from redirecting to SonicWaves Management Page (Login Page):

1. Login To WNM.

2. Click On SSID Profiles.

3.  Select the SSID, Click on Edit.

4. Navigate to Advanced Page | DNS

5. Disable the option Proxy Client DNS Request On Bridge Mode.

NOTE: By default Proxy Client DNS Request On Bridge Mode will be enabled.
