Resolution

Resolution for SonicOS 7.X

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.

 

Logging AWS Account:

  • In your Browser, navigate to https://aws.amazon.com. and log into your AWS Account.

Navigate to SonicWall NSv on AWS Marketplace:

Configure the following options

  • VPC
  • LAN and WAN SUBNET
  • SECURITY GROUP

    NOTE: ETH 0 is WAN subnet and ETH 1 is LAN subnet

     

 

 

To add a new inbound rule for NSv HTTPS management access from another public IP address:

  •  Click Configure Security Group.  The Inbound security rules page displays.Image

 

Creating an Internet Gateway and Attach to the SonicWall NSv VPC.

  • Under VPC |Internet Gateways.

Associating Elastic IP to the NSv appliance

  • Under VPC | Elastic IPs.

Creating two Separate Route Table for LAN and WAN

  • Under the NSV_AWS_VPC_LAN Add a Route to the destination 0.0.0.0/0 and Target as SonicWall NSV LAN Network interface as the next hop and associate only LAN subnets in the Subnet Associations. 
  • Under the NSV_AWS_VPC_WAN Add a Route to the destination 0.0.0.0/0 and Target as Internet Gateway (Associated with SonicWall NSv) and associate only WAN subnets in the Subnet Associations.

    NOTE: Disable the Change Source/Dest Check from the Network Interface of SonicWall NSv Under EC2 Dashboard |Network Interfaces | Actions | Change Source/Dest. Check.

     

 

  • To register your NSv appliance: 1 Point your browser to your NSv Series WAN or LAN IP address and log in as the administrator (default admin / password).
