Difference between Restart System and Restart OS
For Multiblade devices, there are 2 options on the Restart option
Restart System
- This is the big one. It will stop all processes, connections, clears the cache, and unmount the services. It then remounts, and builds all processes.
- It takes about 8-10 minutes to complete
- CLI Command
> restart
Restart SonicOS
- This is used to save certain configuration changes, like certificate import, Appflow settings, etc.
- It takes about 30 seconds to one minute to complete
- CLI command
> restart sonicos
