Difference between Restart System and Restart OS

For Multiblade devices, there are 2 options on the Restart option 

Restart System

1. This is the big one. It will stop all processes, connections, clears the cache, and unmount the services. It then remounts, and builds all processes.
2. It takes about 8-10 minutes to complete
3. CLI Command
   > restart

Restart SonicOS

1. This is used to save certain configuration changes, like certificate import, Appflow settings, etc.
2. It takes about 30 seconds to one minute to complete
3. CLI command
   > restart sonicos
