Description

How to Specify a Proxy Server with the 'startct' Command on Linux

Resolution

Overview

Connect Tunnel, by default, detects the local proxy server and uses it to connect to the appliance. But in some cases this information is not picked by the Connect Tunnel client on Linux when using the 'startct' command on the the command line.

Resolution or Workaround

Using a command line switch, you can specify the proxy server address and port that Connect Tunnel should use when connecting to an appliance:

startct –-use-proxy <server:port>

(To see additional options, type startct --help.)

The final command looks something like this:

startct –y –r<realm name> -u<username> -p<password> --autologon --use-proxy --proxy-user<proxy username> --proxy-pass=<proxy password> <Appliance IP/Host:port>
