How to Reinitialize GMS Appliance to Factory Settings

In this article, we will discuss how to reset SonicWall Global Management System (GMS) Appliance to its factory default settings.

Resolution

This knowledge base article explains, how to reinitialize SonicWall GMSAppliance back to its factory settings. This process will effectively clear out all of the existing configurations and reset the IP address back to the default IP. Reinitializing Appliance to Factory Settings from within the web interface of GMS:

Follow the steps as mentioned below to Reinitialize GMS Appliance to Factory Settings:

Step 1: Login as Admin to the GMS Web Interface using its server IP address.

Step 2: Navigate to the System > Settings on /appliance page.

Step 3: Click on Reinitialize to reset the settings. You will get a Popup window stating GMS appliance will be reverted to defaults. Click on OK. This will set the GMS appliance back to its original factory settings and then reboot.

Step 4: Once the GMS appliance is reset to Factory Settings. Follow the steps as mentioned below:

* For Windows Server: Log in to the web GUI using the Windows Server IP Address and authenticate with default credentials. User Name: admin, Password: password

* For Virtual Machine: Log in to your VM console and set up the IP address as configured on initial installation by following the deployment guide
