How to activate node and support license on Central Management Server (CMS)

Description

Types of CMS:

  •  Perpetual Based: Node licenses sold are perpetual (one time purchase with no expiration), But support should be purchased on users and yearly bases.
  • Subscription Based: Node user Licenses are sold under subscription like 1, 2 and 3 year package based on required users.
  1. Login to your MySonicWall account.
  2. Navigate to My Workspace | Products.

  3. From the list click on the CMS serial number,
  4. Go to Licenses.
  5. For Perpetual based CMS, click on the key symbol next to Central User Licenses – Perpetual to activate node user count and enter the activation key.

  6. To activate support contract license, enter the support activation key clicking on the key symbol next to 24x7 support.

    NOTE: Support contract license for perpetual based CMS should be purchased as equal to node users activated on the CMS.

    EXAMPLE: If the node user on the CMS is for 1000 users, the support contact should also be for 1000 users. If the support is purchased for 500 users, the system will prorate the dates and expiry for the support contract will be 6 months instead on 1 year. In addition to CMS, this prorate logic is applied to the standalone SMA as well.

  7. Under Subscription based CMS the node count will include the package of support contract too, Hence the purchase cart for support on these serial number will be grayed out.

  8. Once the activation key is entered and submitted the page will give options to select renew or upgrade.

  9. Check on one of the options as required and click Confirm.
