Capture Threat Assessment Report (CTA 2.0 and above) Data Retention Policy

Description

Capture Threat Assessment (CTA) v2.0.  is a SonicWall service that provides network traffic and threat report generation in PDF format. The service is provided directly from the SonicOS web management interface. The Capture Threat Assessment service accurately identifies real-time vulnerabilities, exploits, intrusions, and network-based threats. With this, you can see security gaps in the organization and better understand the risks.

As part of delivering this capability, both the CTA 2.0 Report and the cloud platform collect and store flow data about threats detected and malware files passing in your network.

Users can navigate to the Capture Threat Assessment page to generate the report. The output is generated in PDF format, and previous reports are saved in the cloud and displayed in a table so users can access them later.

Here is the data retention policy:

  1. The user shall not modify the template or the report using any 3rd party tools.
  2. SonicWall will only store the latest three CTA reports in the cloud. Anything more than that will be purged
  3. Any reports over 6 months of age be purged from the cloud.

NOTE:If Administrators would like to retain any of this data for longer periods, they can export it to their local system after logging into the Firewall web interface.  Here is the CTA quick reference document (CTA 2.0 User Guide) for more details on the value-added features in this report.
