Product Compatibility, Features & Functionality
What are my alternatives to Analytics On-Prem?
- The alternatives are NSM SaaS, which is fully integrated into SonicWall Unified Management, or NSM On-Prem. Both options provide consolidated reporting and analytics in a single, supported platform.
Do all of the features from Analytics On-Prem exist in NSM?
- Please refer to the NSM feature matrix for a detailed comparison of functionality between Analytics On-Prem and NSM.
Do I transition to NSM SaaS or NSM On-Prem?
- NSM SaaS and NSM On-Prem offer the same management, reporting, and analytics features and functionality. Your choice depends on
- SonicWall hosts NSM SaaS and is responsible for the availability of the infrastructure and upgrading of the software (features and maintenance). NSM SaaS provides more frequent updates to address customer-reported defects, eliminating the OPEX of maintaining an in-house server infrastructure.
- NSM On-Prem requires you to deploy, maintain, and upgrade the server infrastructure to manage SonicWall firewalls.
Are there any alternatives when Analytics On-Prem is EOS, and I can’t transition to NSM?
- No. SonicWall is consolidating all reporting and analytics into NSM SaaS or NSM On-Prem. While you can continue to use Analytics On-Prem after its EOS date, it will no longer receive support or updates, so transitioning to NSM is required to maintain a fully supported and up-to-date analytics environment.

Transition
Can I move my historical data from Analytics On-Prem to NSM?
No, migration of historical data from Analytics On-Prem to NSM is not supported. However, if you need continued access to previously collected data, you can maintain your existing Analytics On-Prem deployment. Simply retain your current configuration (do not delete your firewalls from Analytics) and begin managing those firewalls in NSM going forward.
NSM will collect all new data, while your Analytics On-Prem system will remain available for viewing historical information.
We will provide detailed instructions on how to follow this setup in the Migration Guide.
