How to change the unique firewall identifier via ssh console using PUTTY.
Resolution
The Sonicwall has a Unique Identifier that can be edited and assigned a custom UI
This can be achieved on the CLI as well as the GUI here we demonstrate how to complete this task using the cli.
Example: abc
Example:
(config-vpn)# firewall-Identifier SONICWALLENGINE
Enter the New Unique Identifier
(config-vpn)# firewall-Identifier SONICWALLENGINE
Warning: Unique Firewall Identifier changed. This will reset all active VPNs. Do you want to continue ?(yes/cancel)
[cancel]: yes
Commit the Changes To The Running Config
(config-vpn)# commit
% Applying changes...
% Changes made.
Check Changes
admin@C0000000000> show vpn
vpn
enable
firewall-identifier SONICWALLENGINE
cleanup-tunnels
preserve-ike-port
