Resolution
These components should be installed in MS Exchange 2010
- Mailbox Role
- Client Access Role
- Hub Transport Role
Configuring Exchange 2010 to use a Smart Host when sending emails:
- Open the Exchange Management Console
Expand “Organization Configuration” and select “Hub Transport” 2. Specify a smart host name, choose type Custom and click Next
3. Type * in the field Address, leave the default Cost value (1). Check the option Include all subdomains and click OK
- Once the send connector is added , Right click your existing send connector, and select “Properties”
- Once done, press “OK”.
- This will take you back to the previous screen, and your newly added smart host should now appear in the Smart Host listing.
- You can add more than one smart host if needed.
- Select authentication as needed “none” , “basic authentication” or “TLS”
- Click the “OK” button at the bottom of the send connector properties windows to apply the changes
- All outgoing emails that would go through that send connector will now go out via the specified smart host on port 25
