What is Product Claim or Asset Claim?

The Claimed Assets option is available for partners only.

Keeping customer networks as secure as possible is why we’re all in business. It’s our mutual obligation and the customer’s expectation. Surprisingly though, renewals are often overlooked, and if a customer is going without security services, they’re operating without protection from today’s threat techniques. The SonicWall Asset claim is designed to help you ensure there isn’t a gap in that service. Asset claim is an advanced, partner-enabling renewals system backed up by SonicWALL renewal specialists focused entirely on preventing renewals from falling through the cracks.

Asset-claiming can occur in two ways.

  • Auto Claiming - Auto Claiming is a process used in North America whereby sold asset serial number data is captured through distribution and then mapped to the correct reseller. This is effective however for only 50% of the units sold annually
  • Manual Claiming - For the other 50%, we offer Manual Asset Claiming, which allows a partner to “claim” those serial numbers which we are not able to track through distribution.

NOTE: We recommend that you review your claimed asset lists monthly to ensure that our collective efforts have captured and represented ALL sales and customers properly.

Here’s how the system works:

  1. Partners who have renewal opportunities available (services expiring 75-90 days out) will receive the “opportunity heads-up”
  2. Roughly 60 days prior to expiration, customers will begin to receive renewal notifications via SonicWall renewal program reminding them to contact you to purchase the renewal.

•If the renewal has not occurred by day of expiration, the SonicWall will automatically offer the customer the option of renewing online, directly through SonicWall.
