SonicWall Firewall GUI shows up in Chinese

Sometimes Users may encounter their SonicWall GUI in Chinese Language, instead of English.

When they try to change the language back to English as per instructions at:
How to change the language on the SonicWall UI?, they might encounter the error: Language-override English does not match.

Please attempt the following when you encounter the above issue:

1. Change GUI to Gen 6 and then attempt to change the language to English. For instructions to switch back to Gen6 UI, click below:

2. If above step does not help, download & upgrade to the latest firmware, if the device is on an older firmware. For instructions to upgrade firmware, use the below link:

3. If you are already on the latest firmware, download the same firmware. Upload it onto the device & boot by using the current configuration file.
4. After the reboot, the GUI should change back to English. If the problem still remains, contact Support.
