EX SSL-VPN: Connect Tunnel - Advanced - "Network Conflict Resolution"

Description

EX SSL-VPN: Connect Tunnel -> Advanced - "Network Conflict Resolution"

Resolution

Question:

When accessing Advanced options of Connect Tunnel Client, but first possible choice in "Network Conflict Resolution" section is unclear.

What does "Always use Administrator's Configuration" stand for? What configuration on Aventail does it refer to?

Answer:

The option "Allow users to indicate which split tunnel redirection mode to use on the client" allows the end users to change the CT client advanced tab based checkbox options.

To explain further on this option:

If the appliance is configured for either of the split tunnel modes, select this check box to allow users to decide whether to give preference to local or remote network access.
For example, let' s say you have a host resource a Web server with an address of 192.168.230.1. The user goes on a business trip and it turns out that the printer she wants to use, on a local network at a conference center, uses that same address. Selecting this setting allows the traveler to indicate a preference for local resources (in this case, the printer) when there is a network conflict.
