How to block accessing top-level domain using access rules

Resolution for SonicOS 7.X

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.


  • Login to the SonicWall Management GUI
  • Navigate to the Object |Match Objects | Addresses.
  • Click on Add
  • Enter the following information and click on SAVE.
    NOTE: The top-level domains listed here are examples. You could add domains of your choice.

  • Login to the SonicWall Management GUI
  • Navigate to the Manage | Objects | Address objects.
  • Click on Add
  • Enter the following information and click on Add.
    NOTE: The top-level domains listed here are examples. You could add domains of your choice.
