How to collect Safemode Logs from Analytics

Description

This article provides step by step instructions on how to set On-Prem Analytics to safemode and where to gather the safemode logs.

Resolution

At times safemode logs may be needed for more in depth troubleshooting with support.  If the request for safemode logs is needed, here are the steps to acquire this data.

From the Analytics console where your On-Prem Analytics server is installed.

Go to "Reboot | Shutdown" and navigate to "Boot Analytics into safemode".

Click to Enable and then select yes to confirm and hit Enter.

The Analytics server will then reboot into safemode.

When the reboot is complete, you can then browse to your analytics IP Address using http. (Do not use https as safemode does not use https)

You should see a safemode splashpage where you can click to download the Safe Mode logs.

After downloading the safemode logs you can then go back to the console and click to Disable safemode.  It will then boot back into its normal operational mode.
