GVC 2FA Not Working on NSA 2700 (Gen7)

The Global VPN Client (GVC) does not prompt for a TOTP code during 2FA-enabled login, even though the same user is correctly prompted for 2FA when connecting through NetExtender. This occurs on an NSA 2700 running SonicOS 7.3.3-7015 with GVC client version 5.0.0.2008, which lists 2FA/MFA support in its release notes.

1. Verify the firewall platform generation before troubleshooting GVC 2FA configuration. GVC 2FA is supported only on Gen8 SonicWall appliances.

Note: Gen7 appliances, including the NSA 2700, do not support GVC 2FA regardless of the SonicOS firmware version or GVC client version installed. NetExtender 2FA enforcement is unaffected and continues to function normally on Gen7 platforms.
