Switches

You can use Access Points and Switches Management to manage features of connected SonicWall Switches.

If the switch is managed by SonicWall's Access Points and Switches Management in Unified Management, there will be a warning displayed indicating that there are local changes detected on the switch standalone. Making any changes to the Switch from Access Points and Switches Management will override the local changes.

It is recommended not to make any configuration changes directly on the switch as making local changes can cause conflicts with Access Points and Switches Management in Unified Management leading to inconsistencies in the configuration and display.

If your Switch was newly registered in MySonicWall, then it will appear as unmanaged in the Access Points and Switches Management inventory. When you hover over such unmanaged devices a tool tip message "This device needs to be assigned to a Zone to start management from WNM" will be displayed.

For an unmanaged Switch there will be an option to assign the a Zone in the Location/Zone column and when you click on the assign zone icon the assign Switch to a zone pop up will be displayed. Select a zone and click OK to assign a Zone.
