Trace Route

The Trace Route feature helps to discover the route packets take when traveling to their destination. It lists all the routers it passes through, until it reaches its destination, or fails to reach it, or gets discarded.

To run the Trace Route

  1. Navigate to Network > Devices.
  2. Click Switches.
  3. Select the switch you want to manage and hover over the far right section of the row to access the various options.

  4. Click icon and the Switch Diagnostics page is displayed. The Ping Test tab is displayed by default.

  5. Click on the Trace Route tab.

  6. Specify the Target (host name or IP address).

  7. Specify the Max Hop count. The range is from 1 to 20.

  8. Click Test to view the results in the Result box.
