Prerequisites

Before configuring Reporting Agent HA, ensure the following conditions are met:

  • Two Reporting Agent nodes are deployed and both are added to the NSM controller. Both nodes must be running the same version of the Reporting Agent software.
  • A free IP address is available on the network segment shared by both Reporting Agent nodes, to be used as the Virtual IP.
  • Both Reporting Agent nodes are reachable from the NSM controller over the network.
  • Reporting and Analytics licensing is provisioned for the firewalls that will be assigned to the HA pair.

  • Reporting is enabled in NSM under Manager View | System > Settings > Administration > Deployment settings.

Once both agents are added to the controller, no further action is required on the controller's Nodes page. The HA configuration is performed by logging directly into the reporting agent node.
