SonicOS 7.3.4 and 8.2.3 are available only for Gen 7 and Gen 8 firewalls. Gen 6 and older firewalls have reached End-of-Support (EOS), after which SonicWall no longer provides technical support or firmware updates. Customers running Gen 6 or older hardware should upgrade to a Gen 8 firewall.
How to Upgrade from GEN6 to latest hardware
Secure Upgrade Plus, part of the SonicWall Customer Loyalty Program, is the upgrade path for legacy SonicWall firewalls:
Trade in an eligible SonicWall firewall and bundle the new Gen 7 or Gen 8 firewall with a 2- or 3-year Advanced Protection Security Suite (APSS) subscription in a single, discounted purchase.
Save up to 40 percent on total annual subscription costs.
Term subscriptions and eligible support can transfer from the old appliance to the new one.
The 3-year hardware and security bundle formerly offered as 3 & Free is now part of Secure Upgrade Plus.
To get started, submit an upgrade request and a SonicWall upgrade expert will contact you, or work with a SonicWall SecureFirst Partner. For Gen 6 NSv virtual firewalls, see Gen 6 NSv to Gen 8 NSv Upgrades.
IMPORTANT: Adhering to industry best practices, SonicWall does not provide support (e.g., technical support, firmware updates/upgrades,) for products that have reached End-of-Support (EOS) status. View the SonicWall Product Life Cycle Tables for more information.
