WXA: DNS Registration warning messages when adding a WXA Appliance or Software to the domain :DNS registration warning: 1 ; DDNS failure :1
When adding WXA Appliance or a WXA Software to the domain, following DNS Registration warning messages may show up
DNS registration warning: 1 ; DDNS failure :1 -
and logs report warning messages:
The following could be one of the several reasons for these warning messages:
1. Computer Account for the WXA hostname already exists before adding WXA to the domain 2. DNS Server already has A record and PTR records for WXA Hostname 3. If the warnign is specific to Reverse Lookup - PTR update, then Reverse LookUp zone is not configured on DNS server 4. DNS server is not allowing to update A record and PTR record
Delete any associated Computer Account, DNS Entries - A record and PTR record before adding WXA to the domain
If there is no prior Computer Account, DNS Entries in DNS, and if the error still shows up when Adding WXA to the domain, please check if WXA has created Computer Account for WXA, updated corresponding A record and PTR records when adding WXA to the domain. If adding computer account, adding A record and PTR records are successful, then the WARNING message is due to DNS Server accepting "Secure and non-secure updates". This warning message doesn't show up when DNS is accepting "Secure Only" updates on DNS server. This is just a warning message and not an error message. This warning message is suppressed in our upcoming WAN Acceleration firmware release.
