What are the FQDN/URLS' that needs to be allowed on Upstream Firewall for License/Registration/Sync/Software to Sync on SMA100 Series devices?
Generally a network administrator would provide granular access to an SMA device on the firewall. Limiting access might also interrupt services required for SMA to function seamlessly
SMA appliance communicates with the below-mentioned FQDNs' for the synchronization of various service updates.
- licensemanager.sonicwall.com or lm2.sonicwall.com must be allowed for registration, License activation, License Upgrade and to download signatures
- lmdashboard.global.sonicwall.com or lmdashboard2.sonicwall.com must be allowed for the Dashboard updates
- software.sonicwall.com updates the latest client (Netextender and connect agent) corresponding to the appliance firmware version
- sigserver.global.sonicwall.com allows signature definitions and Auto updates
Note: SMA appliance communicate to these resources over port 443. If you still have issues with Device Registration & License Synchronization please contact Technical Support!
