Trouble with path name in the Auto-Export Tool (GMS Virtual Appliance)

Description

Trouble with path name in the Auto-Export Tool (GMS Virtual Appliance)

Resolution

Step 1:  Ensure you are running 7.2 Service pack 2 or higher.  There are known issues with earlier versions of GMS 7.2 and the Auto-Export tool.  Ensure you have properly gone through the upgrade path (service packs are **NOT** cumulative).

Step 2:  Once GMS has been upgraded, re-download the Auto-Export tool from the GMS system interface using the "Download Auto-Export Tool" button from System > Backup/Restore in the System interface (https:///appliance).

Step 3:  If a firewall exists between the share and the GMS server, ensure traffic is allowed to pass when initiated in EITHER direction (share to GMS or GMS to share).  This is required.

Step 4:  Even when selecting "Windows" as the platform, the share will still use a / character (forward slash) for the share location.

Step 5:  The "IP/Domain" field must include only the share location IP address or domain/subdomain.

Step 6:  The "Shared Dir" field must only include the SHARE PATH, and not the IP address or subdomain of the server.  Example:  "/sharename" is valid, while "server/sharename" is invalid.  See screenshot.
