Resolution
Resolution for SonicOS 7.X
This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.
You do not have enough licenses for all the hosts using Global VPN Client for remote access to your SonicWall. For example, if you purchased 25 GVC licenses and all 25 users are connected at a given point in time, the 26th user trying to connect via the GVC will get this error message.
You will also get this error if you do not have a GVC license or it has not been activated. You can check this under Home | Dashboard | System on the firewall or log into your mysonicwall.com account. To synchronize your licensing information, go to Device | Settings | Licenses ,click SYNCHRONIZE (synchronize license with www.mysonicwall.com).
If more licenses are needed, you can purchase them at www.mysonicwall.com.
NOTE: If you have a wireless SonicWall appliance, such as the TZ W, hosts using Global VPN Client for WiFiSec access are not counted as using a license. Licenses are only required for hosts using Global VPN Client for remote access connections (i.e. to the WAN port from a remote location).
Resolution for SonicOS 6.5
This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.2 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 6.5 firmware.
You can check this under Manage | Licenses on the firewall or log into your mysonicwall.com account. To synchronize your licensing information, go to Security Services | Base Setup ,click SYNCHRONIZE (synchronize license with www.mysonicwall.com).
If more licenses are needed, you can purchase them at www.mysonicwall.com.
NOTE: If you have a wireless SonicWall appliance, such as the SOHO TZW, hosts using Global VPN Client for WiFiSec access are not counted as using a license. Licenses are only required for hosts using Global VPN Client for remote access connections (i.e. to the WAN port from a remote location).
Resolution for SonicOS 6.2 and Below
The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 6.2 and earlier firmware. For firewalls that are generation 6 and newer we suggest to upgrade to the latest general release of SonicOS 6.5 firmware.
