DESCRIPTION: SonicOS: The Error "Add Range Pair" Appears When Attempting to Add an IP Address in Address Objects
The error "Add Range Pair" is displayed under the following circumstances:
The IP address that is being assigned is already specified under the Address Object (for example if the address range of 192.168.168.2 to 100 is already specified under the Address Object and the user tries to add an IP address of 192.168.168.50)
Under the VPN scenario, if the IP address range is already specified for the remote VPN network on the host SonicWall and the user tries to add an IP address in the same range.
If the user has assigned an IP address under the Static Route option and the same IP address is being added again.
In the Sonic OS Standard firmware, there is an option for Add LAN Subnets. If a particular IP address is already assigned (which is part of the address range) then the Add Range pair error pops up.
If this error does occur, check the following:
Make sure the IP address that is being specified is in the range of the SonicWalls IP address or in the range of the remote VPN device.
The selection of the Zone is very important. It is possible that the correct IP address is specified, but the zone is not selected.
Make sure that the Type is also selected in line with the configuration of the Address Object.
