Some or all categories are missing from the App Control Advanced

Description

Although App Control Advanced is licensed and enabled, in the Web UI the Application list is either empty or is missing Categories, so that Match Objects cannot be created.

The Tech Support Report (System | Diagnostics | Download Report) shows all of the Categories.

 

Issue occurs for some users using SonicOS 6.2.4.2-20n

 

Resolution

  1. Make sure App Control is enabled on Zones.
  2. Verify if firmware is not corrupted due to an unsupported downgrade.
    For more information see KB article Understanding and resolving preferences corruption after an attempted "downgrade" of firmware.
  3. Update Firmware to at least 6.2.5.1-26n
