SonicWall SMA 1000 series device provides options to erase current configuration as well as erase other existing firmwares on the device. Config_Reset could be performed for three different options available under Aventail Management Console->Maintenance->Reset

Note: This option would not erase previous firmware versions.( This statement holds good for appliance which have been upgraded prior to performing config_reset).
Option 2: Reset the entire appliance: This option would would retain the current firmware version and erases all the other prior firmware versions on the device including configurations on the device.
Note: Administrators of the device need to select the options in such situations were they no longer need prior firmware versions or configurations.
