SMA1000: 12.4.2 Firmware upgrade fails with error code -- 6
Description
SMA1000: Firmware upgrade to 12.4.2-05082 fails with error code -- 6 in upgrade.log.
Cause
The upgrade fails if some very weird hostname data in the 'CRADestinationData table'.
Running script: /usr/local/aventail/migrate/10_platform/02_webform_sso
Running script: /usr/local/aventail/migrate/10_platform/03_ssh
Running script: /usr/local/aventail/migrate/10_platform/04_localization
Running script: /usr/local/aventail/migrate/10_platform/10_database
Migration script /usr/local/aventail/migrate/10_platform/10_database failed with error code 6

[ 3:23] Restoring existing appliance databases...
[ 3:23] ERROR. migrate.sh returned non-zero error code -- 6. Exiting.
Resolution
Check the upgrade.log for error code.
upgrade.log can be obtained from /var/log/Aventail/upgrade.log.
Run the follwing command in putty logging as a root user for the firmware failed SMA appliance.
# mysql -e 'TRUNCATE TABLE monitoring.CRADestinationData;'
Once you run the above command putty session for the firmware failed SMA appliance. Then upgrade the firmware to 12.4.2-05082.
