SMA 100: How to control multiple user login sessions?

Description

SMA 100: How to control/restrict multiple user login sessions?

Resolution

The administrator can control/restrict the user sessions to allow either a single connection/per user or multiple connections/per user.

Under Portals> Enabling the option> Enforce Login Uniqueness, allows one user to have only one connection to the SMA.

You can set the Enforcement method to either Automatically logout the prior session or Confirm the logout of the prior session.

Enforce login uniqueness- when not enabled allows a user to log into the SMA allows user to have multiple sessions ( i.e from a desktop PC and also a smart phone or tablet with the same same user account).

Login uniqueness feature avoids a single user having multiple connections, consuming multiple licenses.

 Enforce client source uniqueness

When client source uniqueness is enabled, multiple connections from a single user with the same client source address connecting with a SonicWall client (Net Extender/ Mobile Connect) is blocked. This prevents a user from consuming multiple licenses when a user reconnects after an unexpected network interruption. Enforce client source uniqueness when enabled will not allow a user to connect from the same NAT “Public” address to the SMA.
