Log in to the SonicWall firewall and go to Log | Automation:
Use your full email address (in this example the email@example.com ) and type it in the field Send Log Email to Address: and/or Sent Alerts to E-mail Address:
Use the mail server smtp.gmail.com
In the field From E-mail Address: you can use any email address:
Authentication Method: None
Click the Advanced button and a new window comes up with additional fields
Smtp port: 25 ( you can change the port number but the common smtp port is 25 )
(*) Enable SMTP Authentication
Use your Gmail ( or googlemail ) Username and type it in . Username: firstname.lastname@example.org
Use your Gmail ( or googlemail ) Password and type it in . Password: verysecret123
Now you can check, if it works:
Go to Log | Log Monitor and click on "Send log to Email address". Click on "Sent log to Email address" and then wait for a few minutes.
At the bottom of the screen you will see "Status: The log was dumped to email". In these case it means, that is has been sent out.
Resolution for SonicOS 6.5
This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.2 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 6.5 firmware.
