Two Factor Authentication (2FA) or Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) can be configured for NSM On-Prem version 4.0.0 and above.
SMTP server needs to be configured on NSM On-Prem server as pre-requisite.
There are two options for 2FA: OTP over email and/or Google/Microsoft Authenticator App. OTP over email has to be configured first. Once it is configured, the option for Google/Microsoft Authenticator will be available.
Take Default Super Admin account as example. The steps are listed below.
Step 1. Go to User Management/Users/, enable "TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION". A popup window appears. Enter OTP code obtained from the primary email address, then validate it. OTP via email is set up for Super Admin.

Step 2. Once OTP via email has been set up, authentication using Google/Microsoft Authenticator is available. Click on upper right corner login user/User Profile:

Step 3. Click on highlighted link to bring up QR code. Use Google/Microsoft authenticator to scan the code. The user is ready to use it next time when logging in:
