New For SonicOS 7.1.1 (UPE): Enable and Disable IPS signatures

Description

New feature was added to SonicOS 7.1.1 and later versions, to have the ability to bypass certain set of IPS signatures from being checked. This gives administrator control to reduce false alarms by selecting disabling certain IPS signatures.

NOTE: This feature is only available for devices running UPE Mode (NSv and NSSP devices)

Resolution

Enable/Disable IPS signature.

Login to the SonicWall management interface; navigate to OBJECT |Profile Objects | Intrusion Prevention.

On the Intrusion Prevention Objects threat page, the IPS signatures will have a checkbox which will be enabled by default. This can be disabled if certain IPS signatures need to be ignored without taking any action.
